In order to provide our clients with the best possible service, Components Bureau has teamed up with both a Chinese factory and an independent UK manufacturer to offer the best solutions from both sides of the globe.
Our experience has found that unit costs for injection moulded parts are generally cheaper from the Far East. However, due to the physical volume of the component parts any potential savings can be lost as a result of the freight cost through shipping “fresh air”.
Initially, all RFQ’s are channeled through our UK partner who have the design expertise and mould flow analysis tools to interrogate drawings and provide cost effective tooling suggestions.
Previous projects have proved that we can procure high-quality injection mould tooling from China and, dependent on production volumes, transport the tool safely back to the UK so that the actual component moulding can be carried out locally.
This provides the benefit of low cost tooling compared to UK costs, greater flexibility in production batch size, reduced freight and logistics costs. UK equipment includes a range of modern Arburg machinery ranging from 20 to 400 tonnes which is calibrated by the Arburg service team to MoD specifications.
Alternatively, high volume production or components bound for final assembly in Asia can be moulded at our Chinese factory.
We believe that by utilising the engineering/ technical expertise of our UK partner and the tool making/capacity of our Chinese partners we can offer a sound and effective solution to your injection mould requirements.
