Components Bureau Rallies for the Relay!

A team of six runners from Components Bureau Ltd took to the streets of Cambridge on Sunday 20th September. Under gloriously sunny skies they battled it out against 380 other teams in the region’s largest charity relay race, Chariots of Fire, this year held in aid of local mental health charity Cam-mind.

Cam-mind is the longest established mental health charity in Cambridge - having supported local people experiencing mental health problems since 1908.

The runners followed in the footsteps of the famous film, which celebrated the exploits of the 1924 British Olympic team, with the course taking in three Cambridge colleges, Kings, Clare and Trinity.

Components Bureau’s team was made up of Team Captain, Commercial Manager Andrew Ferrier, Sales Office Manager Chris Wilson, Marketing Assistant Danielle Murphy, Technical Sales Co-ordinator Brendan O’Reilly and company friends William Dick and Louise Dorrell.

Components Bureau completed the course in a very respectable 1:24:52, and hopes to raise over £1000 for the charity.

Cam-mind’s Development Manager Aly Anderson was delighted with the support for the charity on the day. “The sponsorship money raised at Chariots will make a huge difference for us here at Cam-mind and will allow us to develop and expand our projects in the community, supporting local mental health service users.”
